- The Duxbury Braille Translator (DBT) is a braille word processor that integrates into Word.
- There are versions for Windows and Apple OS.
- The creation of the text is done in Word.
- Different text formats can be processed, including Word, WordPerfect and HTML.
- After the Duxbury Converter has "translated" the text into the braille, you can continue working in DBT to refine the layout of the braille document.
- The user interface is in English. DBT is also localized to French, German ... A Dutch version is now also available.
- All commercially available Braille printers are supported.
- Conversion of graphic elements such as photos or drawings is not possible with DBT. Duxbury provides a free software, QuickTac, with which graphic braille can be created.
- Conversions to mathematic braille are supported for Nemeth, BAUK, UEBC and French braille.
