Description:
GeloMuc is a respiratory aid for expiratory exercises. Expiratory exercises with PEP (Positive Expiratory Pressure) are used to eliminate secretion congestion in patients suffering from acute and chronic illnesses of the lungs.

The device consists of a main part with mouthpiece, funnel, stainless steel ball and unscrewable head part provided with holes. Before exhalation, the ball closes the funnel. On exhalation, the patient causes a positive pressure in the device and thus also in his or her own airways until the pressure has risen so much that the ball rolls up the wall of the funnel. The air can escape and the pressure decreases. This causes the ball to fall back into the funnel and allows the pressure to build up again. A rapid repetition of this sequence during exhalation leads to vibrations in the respiratory flow, to oscillations in the respiratory tract, which have an expectorant effect.
