Description
Product Type:
Actuator control for the pedal on the piano
Areas of Application:
- People in wheelchairs
- Paraplegia
Description:
This adaptation is a one-time adaptation made for a young pianist.
The piano modification is offered for people who cannot operate the pedal with their feet due to paraplegia or other disability.
The actuator control is more accurate than the electromagnetic control for pianos. The system was developed in collaboration with Heidelberg University Hospital.
Actuators are similar to magnets, but are more sensitive than just on/off and allow a variety of intermediate levels. For this reason, the supplier recommends using a noise circuit for triggering.
The assistive products were made for the pianist Alberto Mancarella from the USA. Other Versions have not been made so far.
