Description
ZoomText is accessibility software for visually impaired people who want to use the computer. The information on the screen is made accessible through magnification and/or speech.
ZoomText has a simple Dutch menu structure and is easy to learn. ZoomText allows you to fully customize the text and background colors on the screen. The mouse pointer can be adjusted in size and color and can be provided with guide lines to help you find the mouse on the screen more quickly. The cursor can also be displayed enlarged and provided with guide lines.
ZoomText is available on CD and USB stick. The USB stick with speech is not equipped with a Dutch speech synthesizer, but it can work with a synthesizer on the computer.

Magnification
from 1.25 to 36 times (with increments of 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x and 2.5x) while maintaining smooth image quality
full screen magnification
eight different magnification windows for full or partial enlargements
intelligent tracking system that ensures that the correct part of the screen is shown enlarged
Smoothly scrolling the enlarged image allows for fast screen navigation
color filtering and highlighting for improved contrast and readability
cursor and mouse highlighting makes finding the text and mouse cursor easy
automatically follows the mouse pointer to the enlarged screen
quickly zoom in and out when using a mouse with an extra mouse wheel
Speech
reads information if desired in places where the mouse passes
For speech you can choose from the standard languages: English, German, French, Spanish or Italian. The Dutch language can be added by installing an additional speech synthesizer, for example Vocalizer. The Dutch speech is not included as standard
adjustable speech, choice of different voices, speed and pitch. The speech functions can be used with or without magnification;
speaks all text on the screen, including menus, dialog boxes and controls
the amount of speech information is adjustable
reads characters, words or text line by line by moving the cursor
keyboard echo per character or per typed word or both
contains document reading functions for speaking large parts of text in its own window (Doc reader) or in the program window (application reader)
ZoomText Magnification & Speech has two functions that can be used to read out a document, message or internet page. These are the 'DocReader' and 'AppReader'.
Docreader: with the DocReader a document can be read out loud in a separate window. This window contains buttons to enlarge the text in the image and to provide it with a different text or background color. The portion of text that is being read is shown in a different color to make it easy to follow the text.
AppReader: With the AppReader, a text can be read out loud in the original window, for example an internet page. Choose where the reading should start. The text to be read is highlighted by a clearly visible frame, making it easy to read along.
