Description:
Tactile orientation aids enable blind and visually impaired people to find their way more easily in road traffic.
Plates with sound bodies are used as attention fields. When triggered mechanically, by brushing over them with a long cane or touching them with the feet, an easily perceptible and unmistakable sound is emitted. Optionally, a medium release weight of the sounding bodies from 40 kg, 60 kg or even 100 kg is available. With these panels, it is necessary that the fields stand out clearly from the surrounding flooring. On one or both sides next to the guide systems, accompanying strips should be positioned with a flat, low-joint surface that contrasts with the hollow-body panels in terms of color and structure. These serve to better distinguish the guidance system from the normal road surface.
Material:
The floor indicator is made of high-strength concrete with embedded modules as sounding bodies. Due to a good color and luminance contrast, the tactile floor panels are also easier to recognize and distinguish for the visually impaired.
Application example:
The floor indicators are used in public road traffic such as at bus stops or crosswalks and provide an additional acoustic orientation aid in addition to tactile orientation. They are used where visually impaired and blind people are required to have a high level of concentration.
