TKA assembly guidelines for knee joints
Description:
The prosthetic knee joints are assembled according to two different assembly guidelines. The assembly of the knee joints according to these guidelines is absolutely necessary to guarantee the optimal functioning of the knee joints and to avoid functional restrictions.
Assembly guideline 1: TKA assembly
- T = trochanter (trochanter major)
- K = knee (knee rotation axis)
- A = Ankle (ankle)
The knee joint is built up vertically in the force and assembly reference line. Starting from the greater trochanter, the perpendicular falls in a ratio of 50/50 through the prosthesis shaft to the foot. The pivot point of the prosthetic knee joint and the center of the ankle joint must also lie exactly on the reference line. The prosthetic foot is divided by the plumb line in a ratio of forefoot 70 percent and rear foot 30 percent.
