Description:
Tactile orientation aids enable blind and visually impaired people to find their way more easily in road traffic.
Boundary and protective strips are crossing protection boards that are used, for example, to separate bike paths from sidewalks, with the bike path side having a dimpled structure and the sidewalk side having a grooved structure. In this case, the lower edge of the grooves is at the same level as the adjacent pavement to prevent tripping. The asymmetrical height profile and the double structure thus prevent unnoticed crossing or driving over the divider.
With these panels, it is necessary that the fields stand out clearly from the surrounding flooring and that the structure can be felt by a long stick or even by the feet.
For easier acoustic differentiation, the bike path slab is made of fiber-reinforced concrete on core concrete, so that a change in the pavement can also be perceived through acoustic change. Due to a good color and luminance contrast, the tactile paving slabs are also easier to recognize and distinguish for the visually impaired.
