Description:
The device works on the principle of High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation, or HFCWO. The viscosity of the secretion is reduced by a series of small, battery-powered motors that oscillate vertically on the chest wall and back. Patients are helped to mobilise and cough up secretions. At the same time, blood circulation and lymph flow are promoted. The mobility of the people is maintained as the device works without a cable, tube or wire to an external device.
HFCWO loosens secretions using deep vibrations without applying pressure to the thorax. Mucus clearance improves when inhaled before using the VibraVest to liquefy mucus.
