Description:
Information is increasingly conveyed through images, graphics and videos. Visually impaired and blind people often remain excluded from this.
For example, companies have developed Braille displays that can show at least simple graphics in Braille - but the large, heavy devices can cost tens of thousands of dollars.
A prototype for a handy, cell phone-sized monitor that converts computer images and graphics into tactile Braille patterns is currently being further developed.
