Description:
In the "PlexoMotion" project, a project team at TH Köln is developing an actively controllable arm orthosis that can be individually adapted using modules. This is intended to facilitate rehabilitation, increase independence and reduce consequential damage.
The orthosis system is to use sensors to detect and analyze body signals and thereby derive movement intentions. Motor support can then be used to translate these into active movements of all arm segments. In addition, the user's movements and strength are to be evaluated and supported according to individual needs.

Other:
The transfer-oriented project is being funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the "START-interaktiv: Interaktive Technologien für Gesundheit und Lebensqualität" (START-interactive: Interactive Technologies for Health and Quality of Life) funding measure until the end of March 2025. The focus of further development is on interaction and adaptability.
