The term Vertellekes comes from Low German and means stories. Sitting together, telling each other something - that is also the basic idea behind this versatile game. The question-and-answer game, specially developed for older people, encourages people to remember, reflect, smile and sing. Everyday and special, cheerful and tricky things find their place in the Vertellekes game. Each time you play, the many little stories and puzzles create a colorful mosaic that preserves and enriches the richness and liveliness of the older person's world of thoughts and feelings.

Vertellekes is a cooperative game. There are no winners or losers. Dementia sufferers and non-dementia sufferers can play. The ideal number of players is four to ten people. The game group can also be larger. However, the more manageable the group, the more personal the atmosphere.

As there is no set end to Vertellekes, the game is played for a pre-agreed time. The recommendation is 45 to 60 minutes. Vertellekes requires a game leader to moderate and guide the game. A supplementary set is also available.
