Product Type:
Wheelchair restraint system
Description:
In accordance with DIN 75078, a power knot system is a connecting piece on the wheelchair that is used for securely fastening the wheelchair in the vehicle and for securing people in the wheelchair. The wheelchair is included in the safety concept. The most stable points for attaching the wheelchair restraint system are defined on the wheelchair ex works or by retrofitting as a power node (e.g. using eyelets or adapter plates with belt tongues).
In the power node, the passenger restraint system, which consists of a lap belt and diagonal shoulder belt, runs together with the rear belts of the 4-point wheelchair restraint system. In the event of an accident, the strength node system transfers the forces generated by the personal restraint system (diagonal shoulder belt & lap belt) via the wheelchair restraint system to the vehicle floor.
In a lap belt-integrated system, the load lies entirely on the two rear retractors. For this reason, strong wheelchair retractors (heavy-duty retractors) are also required in accordance with DIN 75078. These are slightly larger than conventional retractors and are specially marked to prevent any confusion.
Features / components:
- two rear power knot systems, each with a standardized lock tongue for rear tensioning straps and as a fixed point for the lap belt
- two front (power knot) systems, each with a standardized lock tongue for the tensioning retractor
- a length-adjustable lap belt with integrated lock tongue for fastening the diagonal shoulder belt
