Product Type:
Wheelchair Restraint System
Description:
According to DIN 75078, a power knot system is a connecting piece on the wheelchair that is used to securely fasten wheelchairs in the vehicle as well as to secure people in the wheelchair. The wheelchair is included in the safety concept. On the wheelchair, the most stable points for fastening the wheelchair restraint system are defined as force nodes ex works or by retrofitting (e.g. by means of eyelets or adapter plates with strap tongues).
In the force node, the passenger restraint system, which consists of lap and shoulder belts, converges with the rear belts of the 4-point wheelchair restraint system. In the event of an accident, the force node system transfers the emerging strengths of the personal restraint system (shoulder belt andlap belt) further into the vehicle floor via the wheelchair restraint system.
With a lap belt-integrated system, the load rests completely on the two rear retractors. For this reason, DIN 75078 also requires strong wheelchair retractors (heavy duty retractors). These are somewhat larger than conventional retractors and have a special marking to rule out any possible confusion.
