Description:
The device works on the principle of High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation, also known as HFCWO. The viscosity of the secretions is reduced by a series of small, battery-operated motors that oscillate vertically on the chest wall and back. Patients are helped to mobilise and cough up the secretions. At the same time, blood circulation and lymph flow are stimulated. The person's mobility is maintained as the device works without a cable, tube or wire to an external device.
HFCWO loosens secretions by means of deep oscillation without exerting pressure on the thorax. Mucus clearance is improved if the VibraVest is inhaled before use to liquefy the mucus.
