Humanware Victor Reader Trek talking book player & GPS

In addition to the functions of the Victor Reader Stream (daisy player), such as (downloaded) Daisy playing books, listening to music, recording voice
and playing text files, Victor Reader Trek features GPS navigation with TomTom maps of Europe (44 countries).
This allows you to navigate throughout Europe and meanwhile you also have your Daisy books with you for relaxation!
Victor Reader Trek is very similar to the Stream, but has a few minor differences:
presence of GPS antenna
better processor speed
Bluetooth functionality
one connection for both headphones and microphone
vibration function for tactile notification of instructions
tactile identification on keys 2, 4, 6, 8 and 5
slightly thicker due to built-in GPS antenna
The Victor Reader Trek is a combination of a versatile Daisy / multimedia player and GPS navigation.
With one push of the (online) button you can switch from reading mode to media playback mode to navigation / orientation mode. In the latter mode, the Trek can report the following with one press of the where-am-I button (number 5):
current nearest address
which direction am I going?
the next intersection
description of the intersection
following instructions when a route is followed
Using the keypad, an address can be entered for the navigation function and landmarks can be marked and saved with a voice tag.
Victor Reader Trek provides specific instructions for pedestrians or vehicles. For example, a pedestrian cannot be guided on highways and the amount of detail will be reduced in vehicle instructions so that they are more easily provided to a driver.
After pressing the (online) button you can switch back to, for example, continue listening to your book or favorite music.
Victor Reader Trek provides spoken instructions through the built-in speaker.
But Victor Reader Trek also supports Bluetooth headphones for sound reproduction.
For outdoor use, there are five additional volume levels where the volume can be louder in noisy environments while navigating.
This function can only be used in orientation / navigation mode.
