Description:
Tactile orientation aids make it easier for blind and visually impaired people to find their way in road traffic. Accompanying strips are installed on one or both sides of guidance systems with a studded or grooved structure. The contrast in texture and color makes them stand out visually from the studded or grooved panels and makes it easier to distinguish the guidance system from the normal road surface.
Material:
To make it easier to distinguish them acoustically, accompanying strips are made of concrete so that a change in the road surface can also be perceived by an acoustic change. Thanks to good color and luminance contrast, the accompanying strips are also easier to recognize and distinguish for the visually impaired.
Application example:
To ensure tactile contrast, accompanying strips must have a width of at least 60 cm; for visual contrast, accompanying strips of at least 30 cm are required. On platforms, single-sided accompanying strips should always be positioned on the side of the guiding strip facing away from the track.
