Description:
The eating appliance consists of a base plate on which a pivoting and rotating lever arm with a cutlery holder and the plate are mounted.
All mechanical models can be individually supplemented with additional modules to compensate for specific physical limitations.
A piece of cutlery of your choice is fixed to the cutlery holder.
The lever arm can be controlled by grasping it with the hand, pressing it with individual fingers, or using the wrist or arm. The spoon is lowered into the plate, the food is pushed on, the spoon is raised and guided horizontally to the mouth according to a sequence of movements determined by the design dimensions.
The handling and the sequence of movements are therefore also suitable for therapeutic purposes, e.g. for mobility training, training an upright sitting position, head control, concentration training, etc.
The following requirements must be met in order to use the eating aid:
The user must be able to remove the food from the cutlery using their mouth. Oral intake of food must also be possible. The consistency of the food is irrelevant.
