Some Parkinson's patients suffer from what is known as freezing syndrome. This is a blockage of movement that makes it impossible for them to cross large, visually unstructured areas on foot. They then need a pattern, e.g. two-coloured floor tiles, or a visible obstacle to enable them to continue walking.

The anti-freezing cane is a light metal support cane with an anatomical handle for the right or left hand, anodized silver in color, which is fitted with a fold-out crossbar. By operating a mechanism on the handle, it can be used as an obstacle available at any time to help Parkinson's patients with freezing syndrome to overcome the movement blockage. The crossbar has a predetermined breaking point so that it breaks off if accidentally stepped on to prevent falls. It is available individually as a spare part.
