Description:
Tactile orientation aids make it easier for blind and visually impaired people to find their way in road traffic.
Limiting and protective strips are crossing and crossing protection boards that are used, for example, to separate cycle paths and footpaths, whereby the cycle path side has a studded structure and the footpath side has a grooved structure. The lower edge of the grooves is at the same level as the adjacent pavement to prevent tripping. The asymmetrical height profile and the double structure thus prevent unnoticed crossing or driving over the dividing strip.
With these slabs, it is necessary that the fields stand out clearly from the surrounding pavement and that the structure can be felt with a long stick or even with the feet.
For easier acoustic differentiation, the cycle path slab consists of fiber concrete on core concrete, so that a change in the pavement can also be perceived by acoustic changes. Thanks to a good color and luminance contrast, the tactile paving slabs are also easier to recognize and distinguish for the visually impaired.
