Description:
Neurofeedback is a method for treating disorders of self-regulation and impulse control. The aim of the therapy is to improve the quality of life in various neuropsychiatric disorders over the course of several sessions.
Before the training, EEG electrodes are attached to the patient's head. During a session, brain activity (EEG) is measured and displayed visually on the patient's screen in the form of an animation. The animation reflects the current activity level of the brain. This visual feedback makes unconscious neurophysiological processes perceptible. During training, the patient learns to positively influence the electrophysiological brain activity at will. The strategies learned are applied in everyday life.
