Description:
The DC-Stimulator Mobile is a medical device for non-invasive transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). It is used in clinics, medical practices and in occupational/physiotherapy/logopaedics.
TDCS is considered a well-tolerated, assurance treatment method. It is easy to use, painless and has few side effects. A weak electrical direct current acts on the brain for 15 to 30 minutes through two electrodes attached to the head. Depending on the strength, duration, polarity and placement of the electrodes, the applied current can have an inhibitory or excitatory effect. The resting membrane potential changes and the transmission of information is either promoted or inhibited in this way. In this way, neuronal excitability and activity levels can be modulated. Studies show positive effects for various neurological and psychiatric disorders (see Areas of Application).
