Braille display
Areas of application:
- Blind and severely visually impaired people
Description:
The Tactonom Reader offers blind and severely visually impaired people access to graphic information that has previously been processed tactilely. Tactile structures are explained by audio information. These explanations refer to the element that the user feels with the fingertip. Technically, information is read with pinpoint accuracy using camera-based finger recognition. If there is information under the finger, it is read out. The combination of tactile graphics, camera-based finger recognition and digital voice output means that all tactile-graphic and tactile objects can be explained in detail using audio information. Several languages can be stored in one graphic. Graphics can be called up via a free online database (so-called Graphitek), and can be individually designed and textualized. The graphics can be downloaded and used free of charge as swell paper, Braille print, thermoform or 3D print.
