The treatment leads to a reduction in the diameter of the veins and supports the function of the venous valves. This reduces the venous blood volume, increases the flow velocity and improves or eliminates backflow (retrograde flow) of the blood. In addition, the tendency to clot is reduced. In the surrounding tissue, the return flow of interstitial fluid into the capillaries is promoted, the leakage of capillary fluid is reduced and a noticeable decongestion is achieved.
