- The Eye-Pal Solo is a portable read-out machine that functions completely independently, so that computer knowledge is not required.
- The text recognition software is proprietary and optimized for use by visually impaired people.
- Text in columns and the orientation of the sheet are automatically detected.
- Printed texts in various languages, including Dutch, are read out.
- It is sufficient to put the text on the reading table to start scanning and reading.
- During reading aloud there is a choice of three operating modes:
o with buttons on the front of the device: on / off, pause / resume, volume and reading speed

- The result can be saved as a normal text file (txt) and as a sound file (mp3). This is possible on a USB stick or SD memory card. As a result, the texts can be read at a later time, for example with a daisy player.
- The device tells you when you can post your document and when the conversion to text and sound file is complete.
- Optionally, an external screen can be connected on which the text is displayed simultaneously with the reading aloud.
