The hive is made of hard-foamed polystyrene and is easier to carry than wooden hives. The compact design with the continuous handle strips on the frames makes it easier to pack during transportation. An outer seam ensures that the hive parts fit tightly and are watertight in the rain. This hive has no protruding parts that can be knocked on or off.
The Taunus Zander plastic magazine has a floor construction that prevents wet and mouldy combs and the hive is always ready to move.
