When reading it is comfortable to have an angled book support on which papers and books are situated closer to the eyes which means less strain on the neck. Nowadays, desks with sectioned tops are common in offices, where one section is angle adjustable, like a drawing board. Angled book supports are more likely to be found in private homes.
