Description:
Tactile orientation aids help blind and visually impaired people to find their way safely in road traffic. Delimiting and protective strips, for example to separate cycle paths and footpaths, consist of floor slabs with a studded (cycle path side) and grooved (footpath side) structure. The grooves are level with the ground to avoid the risk of tripping. The asymmetrical profile and the different structure prevent unintentional crossing or driving over.
The fields must stand out clearly from the surrounding surface and be tactile both with a long pole and with the feet. Cycle path slabs made of fiber-reinforced concrete also make it possible to perceive the change of surface acoustically. High color and luminance contrasts improve visibility for visually impaired people.
