The battery-powered system comprises a lightweight, body-worn exoskeleton with motors at the hip and knee joints. The degree of support can be adapted to the individual limitations of the person concerned. It ranges from complete takeover to slight support for movement. The movements of a natural gait pattern are imitated to make it easier for the affected person to (re)learn movement sequences.
sensors permanently monitor the affected person's balance and analyze the gait pattern in order to adapt the exoskeleton's support accordingly. The therapist can access the data to analyze the progress of the affected person's therapy afterwards.
