In recent years, the use of voice prostheses and valves has expanded the options for vocal rehabilitation after surgery. Flexible and individualized epitheses enable affected patients to speak in conjunction with speaking tubes without the escape of secondary air.
Tracheostoma applicases are made of medical silicone. These devices are used in patients with a tracheostomy to seal the resulting defect and optimize voice modulation.
The costs of an epithesis fabrication are settled directly with the patient's cost bearer (usually the statutory health insurance). There is no personal contribution. As the epithesis is an assistive product, the costs for necessary corrections/repairs are also covered by the statutory cost bearers. Orders can only be made to measure.
