Neofect Smart Glove is an exercise device for rehabilitation that enables self-training at home using sensor technology.
The device was developed to induce neuroplasticity in the hand function of patients with brain damage.
The glove is put on and connected to the Neofect app/software.
To improve the rehabilitation of patients whose extremities are affected by lesions in the central nervous system, repetitive goal-oriented and task-oriented activities should be performed. However, the repetitive rehabilitation process reduces patient motivation and makes it difficult to maintain optimal difficulty and induce neuroplasticity.
The system applies an algorithm to game-like exercises so that patients remain motivated and continuously perceive the exercises as challenging. This eliminates the need for therapists to manually adapt the difficulty of the task to motivate patients.
The curriculum algorithm is designed to improve learning of multiple functional tasks by suggesting an optimal task at an appropriate difficulty level.
Based on patient data, e.g. training progress, prescription, personal interest, motor function score, etc., it calculates which game to select and at what level of difficulty.
