The Magnifier app is part of the standard equipment of every new iPhone.
Apple has been equipping its iPhones with the Magnifier app for quite some time now, which allows visually impaired people to enlarge the text of a document and, if necessary, also adjust the color contrast. This was expanded with an AI function that recognizes people in the camera image and checks whether the safety distance is respected.
The first addition ensures that doors in the camera image are recognized, the door is described and, if desired, the text on a nameplate on the door is also read out. The distance to the door is indicated and when you walk towards the door you hear notifications of the decreasing distance.
A second addition is 'Point and speak'. When you take a document into view and point your finger at the text on the document, that text is read out.
