Description:
DL EasyTask is a program that increases the productivity of blind computer users. It simplifies and accelerates work processes, compensates for speed disadvantages caused by blindness and thus increases the competitiveness and job opportunities of blind and visually impaired people.
The program is an integral part of almost all workplace equipment supplied by the company and is used wherever visually impaired people work on computers. It is used by authorities, courts, ministries, schools, universities, industrial companies and associations, among others. Integration into SAP environments and IBM LotusNotes is unproblematic and very useful.
How EasyTask works:
Just like a well-equipped workshop, EasyTask provides a range of electronic tools, the so-called EasyTask jobs. These are easy to use, create and modify. Individual steps can be bundled into a job and automated. Measuring, cutting, sanding and filing, for example, become a work process that is completed automatically. These work processes are given meaningful names and practical abbreviations. EasyTask has a modular structure.
Creation of EasyTask jobs:
The company delivers EasyTask with a series of useful jobs. Users create or modify other jobs themselves according to their needs.
Some examples of useful jobs:
gb = business letter. EasyTask opens a new Word document with a defined pad
ne = New e-mail. Outlook is started with a new e-mail.
as + search term = search for address. The address application is started and the focus is displayed in the hit list.
Application areas and job types:
- Direct access to files and directories: Entering "agbdoc", for example, displays the general terms and conditions in Word.
- Direct access to the Internet and intranet: Frequently used pages or search queries are started immediately. The Braille display is automatically positioned on the result.
- Knowledge tool: know-how and text modules: Immediately retrievable knowledge is available for areas such as support and enquiries. Text parts can be entered in all editors or input fields. For example, legal information can be provided without having to write extensive texts from case to case.
- Macro module: EasyTask can memorize what you have done and thus take over tedious routine tasks. Workflows can be recorded and linked to EasyTask actions. Similar to the scripts of a screen reader, EasyTask macros are combined with application programs, making even inaccessible software parts accessible.
- Direct access to screen reader functions: Instead of having to memorize complicated key combinations, you can simply search for functions. This reduces the learning curve for screen readers.
Do I have to remember the shortcuts?
EasyTask offers various options for activating jobs. With the full text search, you do not have to remember any abbreviations. Experience has shown that most users only remember the abbreviations that they need frequently. EasyTask jobs can also be started via switches and RFID radio tags. A document can be linked to the digital content in this way.
Using EasyTask in a team:
Jobs can be saved locally and/or in the cloud. If more than one computer is used, the jobs can be used with any computer. EasyTask jobs are usually easy to create. However, programmers can also create complicated jobs. These are exchanged and shared via a pool, which opens up new opportunities for collaboration within the team.
DL® XTab function:
DL® XTab is a module of DL® EasyTask. It was developed for people who cannot use their hands or fingers and control the PC by voice. However, this function now also helps visually impaired and blind people. In many cases, DL® XTab makes screen reader scripting superfluous.
DL® XTab displays numbered buttons for all control elements such as input fields, buttons etc. at the touch of a button in any Windows application. Instead of dragging the mouse pointer with head or eye control to the desired control element, you can say "click 17", for example. You can either move the focus to element no. 17 or activate the element immediately. Alternatively, you can jump to specific input fields, checkboxes or switches. The features are also available in SAP applications.
International distribution:
EasyTask is marketed internationally via http://www.u-r-able.comU-R-Able in Canada under the product name ALT.
