When you want to read or write at your desk, the quality of the reading lamp is very important. The light should be positioned either alongside or behind you in order to avoid any irritating glare or contrast. If you are right-handed position the light on the left-hand side for writing and vice versa. An adjustable lamp clamped onto the edge of the desk might be another option.
