Description:
The APAS assistant is a versatile automatic assistance system. As an intelligent robot, the APAS assistant can work directly with humans without a safety fence. This makes it suitable for many applications in which workers primarily require assistance with simple, monotonous processes or work with ergonomically unfavorable movement sequences. The APAS assistant stops before man and machine come into contact and only continues its work when there is a clear assurance zone. This contactless stop is made possible by the sensor skin that surrounds the robot arm of the APAS assistant and reacts as soon as a human approaches.
The "APAS assistant" was certified by the German Employer's Liability Insurance Association as the first robot system for industrial applications in collaborative companies.

As part of the AQUIAS project, the mobile production assistant APAS assistant from Robert Bosch GmbH is being used in the integration company ISAK gGmbH. In this company, production specialists with severe disabilities and very individual performance restrictions work in assembly.
In the second pilot area, Robert Bosch GmbH is testing different forms of division of labor between humans and robots with its mobile production assistant APAS assistant.
