Areas of Application:
Breathing difficulties in e.g. COPD, bronchiectasis, emphysema, CF, smoker's cough, bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, reduced retraction force of the lung tissue, atelectasis prophylaxis.
Possible modes of action:
- Dilation of the airways (setting I) and loosening of bronchial mucus (setting II)
- Reduction of cough and shortness of breath
- Improvement of gas exchange
Contraindications:
Pneumothorax, massive hemoptysis (coughing up blood), severe heart failure, ICP (intracranial pressure symptoms) >20 mm Hg.

Description:
Guideline-based respiratory therapy (PEP*) for effective loosening and removal of stuck bronchial mucus. The RC-Cornet® PLUS generates an oscillating positive expiratory pressure (OPEP) during exhalation. The risk of respiratory tract infections can be reduced.
Studies show that regular use can reduce exacerbations, the need for antibiotics and hospital stays for chronic respiratory diseases.
Features / components:
- in each setting, the intensity of the resistance can be adjusted in four levels (A-D) to suit the patient, meaning it can also be used by weak patients
- meets the highest clinical requirements (KRINKO) in terms of use and hygiene (max. 134 °C/multi-patient use)
- integrated, ISO-standardized nebuliser attachment enables simultaneous respiratory therapy and moist inhalation with nebulisers for better secretolysis (combination therapy)
- position-independent
- the RC mask for adults and children can also be attached to the RC-Cornet® PLUS and thus be used for neurological patients, among others. this can make therapy easier for neurological patients
