Neofect Smart Glove is an exercise device for rehabilitation that uses sensor technology to enable self-training even at home.
The device is designed to induce neuroplasticity for hand function in patients with brain damage.
The glove is put on and connected to the Neofect app/software.
To improve the rehabilitation of patients whose extremities are affected by central nervous system lesions, repetitive goal-directed and task-oriented activities should be performed. However, the repetitive rehabilitation process reduces patient motivation and makes it difficult to maintain optimal difficulty and induce neuroplasticity.
The system applies an algorithm to game-like exercises to keep patients motivated and continuously perceive the exercises as challenging. This eliminates the need for therapists to manually adjust task difficulty to motivate patients.
The curriculum algorithm is designed to improve learning of multiple functional tasks by suggesting an optimal task at an appropriate difficulty level.
Based on patient data, e.g., training progress, prescription, personal interest, motor function score, etc., it calculates which game to select at which difficulty level.
