A kettle is an everyday appliance that isn't easy for everyone to use. It can get quite hot if you reach past the handle, and pouring boiling water can also be a challenge. Gilia, an Australian company, has devised a new design for a safe kettle. The kettle rests on a rubber mat that also has tactile compartments for three mugs. The kettle's base can swivel from left to right in three positions. The kettle can then be tilted via a hinged system to pour water into one of the three mugs (which correspond to the three positions).
