If you often require a seat, use a chair with wheels whilst working in the kitchen. By pushing with your feet and hands it is possible to move around. The chair is fitted with a brake mechanism - seen here with the black knob. If you have to stand up it is safer to engage the brake. The chair should be comfortable, include if possible a backrest and armrests and be height adjustable.
