The APAS assistant is a flexible assistance system that, as an intelligent robot, works directly with humans without a protective barrier. It is suitable for monotonous tasks or work involving awkward movement sequences and stops automatically when a human approaches. The robot's sensor skin enables this contactless stop.
The APAS assistant is the first robot system certified by the German Employers' Association for collaborative operation in industry.

In the AQUIAS project, the APAS assistant from Robert Bosch GmbH is being used at the integration company ISAK gGmbH, where production specialists with severe disabilities work in assembly. In a second pilot area, Bosch is testing various models for the division of labor between humans and robots.
