Description:
DeKonBot 2 is a cleaning and disinfection robot for potentially contaminated surfaces such as door handles and light switches. It uses the Metralabs X3 platform and a UR5e manipulator for flexible cleaning movements. A new brush-based cleaning tool removes dirt and kills germs.
After a one-time training session on the objects to be cleaned, the robot operates autonomously and is safe to use among humans. Thanks to its modular hardware and software structure, it can be easily adapted or expanded to meet specific requirements.
Project MobDi:
DeKonBot 2 was developed as part of the MobDi project, which is funded by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft's "Anti-Corona" program. The goal is to develop solutions for mobile disinfection and automated goods transport in buildings and public transport. The project includes the development of modular cleaning and transport robots as well as new methods for surface analysis and targeted cleaning. Another goal is the development of a compact, maneuverable transport robot for hospitals and care facilities.
