A specific solution for the digital whiteboard is needed. My Board Buddy is the answer.
The my Board Buddy creates a vibration-free, maximally enlargeable duplicate of the digital (smart)board or any other projection while maintaining image quality and the possibility of colour manipulation.
It brings the image of the smartboard in high quality to a monitor/screen close to the student. The student can adjust the magnification and colour contrast themselves without affecting the image of the smartboard. All screen content is displayed with minimal delay: text, photo, video, live notes are sent live.
The tool does not use a camera, but a transmitter (approximately €950) that is connected to a smartboard or PC via an HDMI output. The transmitter sends the information either to a receiver on a screen at the student's (version: myBoard Buddy AIR) or to the associated app on a tablet (version: myBoard Buddy GO). The app is free and is available on both Android and iOS.
The transmitter has its own WiFi network; in a school situation with several adjacent rooms, the strongest WiFi signal is automatically used. When using the app, the WiFi is temporarily taken over by the transmitter network, but after closing the app, the connection with regular WiFi is automatically restored.
The iPad is not part of the package that Sensotec sells; the user must purchase the iPad themselves.
With the myBoard Buddy Go, the student can operate the projection themselves via a control box / via the tablet. This allows him/her to zoom in and out, scan and adjust the contrast (e.g. B/W or semi-colour). Because a camera is not used, it is also possible to enlarge videos with sufficient quality.
The tool is often used in addition to a board camera.
Sensotec developed my Board Buddy primarily for school applications, but it can also be used during meetings / presentations or at work.
