Description:
Tactile orientation aids make it easier for blind and visually impaired people to find their way in road traffic.
Panels with a grooved or studded structure are used in the form of attention fields, boundary or protective strips and guidance directions at, for example, bus stops, level crossings, crosswalks or when changing levels in road traffic, but also in public buildings and facilities.
With these panels, it is necessary that the fields stand out clearly from the surrounding floor covering and that the structure can be felt by
a long cane or even by the feet. Accompanying strips with a flat, low-joint surface that contrasts in color and texture with the studded or grooved panels should be positioned on one or both sides of the guidance systems. These serve to better differentiate the guidance system from the normal road surface.
The studded and grooved panels are made of fiber-reinforced concrete for easier acoustic differentiation. The tactile floor panels are also easier to recognize and distinguish for the visually impaired thanks to their good color and luminance contrast.
