Description:
Tactile orientation aids make it easier for blind and visually impaired people to cross roads safely. Particularly at crossings from the sidewalk to the roadway, crossing kerbs with zero drop offer a virtually step-free transition - also advantageous for wheelchair users, parents with baby carriages and older people.
The crossing area must be clearly tactile and visually differentiated from the pavement - e.g. with a trapezoidal or ribbed structure that can be perceived with a long cane or feet.
The material consists of concrete with either a trapezoidal or ribbed structure. The non-slip surface and good color and luminance contrasts improve visibility for the visually impaired.
Application example:
Connecting stones with a rising edge are provided for the side edging. For better recognition, an attention field is recommended in front of the crossing area.
