Be My Eyes is an app that connects blind people seeking help with volunteer sighted caregivers.
However, the ‘Be My AI’ function is new, which gives users the option of being helped by AI instead of a caregiver.
As a user, you choose how you want to be helped.
If you choose the ‘Be My AI’ function, you can take a photo from the app that is automatically analyzed and described. You can then ask one or more specific questions about that photo that the app will answer. Finally, you can still contact the volunteer caregiver who will see your photo, where you can then ask additional questions.
The description of the photo is particularly extensive and accurate.
Be My Eyes can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store for iPhone users and from the Google Play Store for owners of an Android smartphone.
