- The OrCam is a portable reading aid that can also recognize faces and objects.
- The OrCam consists of an elongated camera unit that can be clicked onto almost any ordinary pair of glasses.
- The camera unit has a front camera for recording the subject (text, face, object).
- On the back of the camera unit, on the side of the ear, there is a speaker for the speech reproduction.
- The camera unit is connected with a wire to a compact processing unit.
- The camera must be focused on the text; sufficient skill or residual vision is required for this. The user must then point the text to be read with a finger and then a photo is taken. Subsequently, the text is read aloud, also with a Dutch or Flemish voice.
- The face of another person is recognized. The first time a name must be entered that will be pronounced at a next meeting.
- Objects are recognized.
- The system is equipped with rechargeable batteries.
- Included: mains adapter / charger
- There is also an Orcam MyReader that only reads texts and does not have object and face recognition.
