Description:
Tactile orientation aids make it easier for blind and visually impaired people to navigate traffic. Slabs with grooved, studded, or trapezoidal structures are used at bus stops, railway crossings, pedestrian crossings, or in public buildings.
The slabs' areas must stand out clearly from the flooring and be tactilely detectable with a long cane or the feet. Guide strips next to the guidance systems, with a smooth surface and good color contrast, improve differentiation from the normal pavement.
The hard concrete slabs are easily visible even for the visually impaired thanks to the color and luminance contrast.
