Description:

- general description Dentures
The complete denture:
Complete dentures are usually made of acrylic and attach themselves to the mucous membrane due to their marginal design. As the jaw changes, regular relinings are usually necessary. For allergy patients, there are so-called monomer-free plastics, which are either thermoplastic or made from plastics with a low monomer content. The teeth used can still be characterized aesthetically. This is also possible with the denture acrylic, in the area of the tooth necks, by inserting color pigments.
The partial denture:
Partial dentures, also known as model cast dentures, are made of chrome-cobalt-molybdenum alloys. A metal clasp encloses the remaining teeth, which are necessary as retaining elements. The disadvantage is that the retaining tooth can be damaged by the rubbing effect of the metal clasp. The teeth to be replaced are incorporated into a so-called plastic saddle. The model cast denture is the standard restoration.
The combination denture:
Some or all of the remaining teeth are crowned in order to attach retaining elements, so-called attachments, bars or telescopic crowns. This ensures a firm hold. Easy removal of the dentures allows for good cleaning and hygiene. The firm hold of the prosthesis can be readjusted by activating the attachment parts. In addition, telescopic dentures can be extended even years later, possibly up to a complete denture. Special attention is paid to individuality and aesthetics in combination work, which can be regarded as a high-quality restoration.
