Description:
AlterEgo is a non-invasive, wearable, peripheral neural interface specifically designed for people with speech disorders such as MS or ALS. It enables people to communicate in natural language with machines, AI assistants, services and other people without opening their mouths or making externally observable movements. All they have to do is articulate words internally. Feedback is provided via audio and bone conduction without interfering with auditory perception. This turns the interface into a closed control loop. This enables human-computer interaction that is subjectively experienced as completely internal - like a soliloquy.
