Kohtaan sisältyvät välineet, jotka on tarkoitettu henkilön terveydentilan parantamiseen, seurantaan tai ylläpitämiseen. Kohtaan eivät sisälly apuvälineet, jotka on tarkoitettu vain terveydenhuollon ammattihenkilöiden käyttöön.
Välineet, joita käytetään apuna kognitiivisessa terapiassa, esimerkiksi nukketerapiassa ja muistiterapiassa, kun hoidetaan ihmisiä, joilla on muistivaikeuksia. Kohtaan sisältyvät esim. terapeuttiseen käyttöön tarkoitetut nuket ja terapeuttiset robotit. Muistin tukena toimivat apuvälineet, ks. 22 27 16.
